I know this moment happens to all of us…
The unexpected moment when you come across a mission that happens to be as beneficial to society as it is creatively inspiring—all at once, it puts a smile on your face and passion in your heart to get up and do something good, to share hope, to inspire.
This moment hit me recently when I picked up the May 2010 issue of Ladies’ Home Journal and came across the article called, “The Makeover Artist” (p. 60). The article begins, “When Terry Grahl, of Taylor Michigan, was asked to lend her interior design expertise to the women’s dorm of a local shelter for the homeless, she was shocked at the rooms the women and children lived in…”
Long story short, Terry turned these depressing quarters into a home the resident women could be proud of—including polka-dotted pillows, murals on the walls, and flower boxes by the beds. Through this experience, Terry decided to turn her interior decorating business into a nonprofit called Enchanted Makeovers so she could continue to make a positive impact through her creativity. “[Enchanted Makeovers] continues to transform shelters for women and children into places of peace and possibilities—not just where basic needs are met, but spiritual needs for hope and beauty.” So inspiring! As Shop Hop Productions begins its journey serving the lifestyle markets for babies and brides, we want to honor and support creative charities. Please join us this month, from June 1 – August 9, 2010, to nominate your favorite charity as part of our Charity Select Contest.
We look forward to learning more about your favorite charities and supporting them through the upcoming Baby Shop Hop (every click by shop hoppers will generate additional donations to the charity).
